Handball drills for technique condition

Walk movements practice zigzagging around pawns:
  • Walking
  • Forward
  • Backward
  • Sliding

  • The attackers must move from one side of the field to the other to reach the pawns.
  • The trainer throws the ball into the field.
  • One of the two players has the ball and goes to attack, while the other goes to defend.

Shooting game where they get to take a card when they have scored. Each playing card shows a "color," clubs, spades, hearts or diamonds. Each color represents a fitness exercise.

Hearts: Push-ups, Spades: Squat, Clubs: Burpee, Diamonds: Lunges.

Once they have picked a card, they must first perform the corresponding exercise, they do this the number the card indicates. For example, Hearts 4 = 4 push-ups. Then they may continue shooting again. Group with the most cards, has won.

  • Line up at the center line
  • 2 players start at the same time
  • Fast forward to the first pawn on the left, tap and reverse
  • To the other pawn on the right, tap and go backwards
  • To the pawn in the middle tap and go backwards
  • Go around the starting pawn
  • Sprint to the other side
  • Then make 2 teams > relay race. When you reach the other side, go back outside and tap the next one. Ready is sitting.
  • 2x without ball
  • 2x with ball;
    • 1st time only to the other side and back is bouncing.
    • 2nd time also to the other 3 pawns.
The team that loses performs an exercise that the winning team comes up with. Such as; push-ups, frog jumps, abs, jumping squats, etc.

  • At least 1 player stands at each pawn.
  • There is 1 ball at red.
  • Red throws to blue and walks to blue's pawn.
  • Blue throws to white and runs to white's pawn and so on.
Variations:

  • Running after the ball.
  • Run the ball clockwise and players counterclockwise.
  • Crossing diagonally.
  • 2 balls.
  • With a bounce.

  • Blue with black starts with and runs 3 passes with the ball
  • Throws the ball to red who comes running in
  • Red throws the ball again to the next blue player who comes running in
  • This is how the circle goes around
More difficult:
  • 1 defender in the middle
  • 2 defenders and 1 circle player
  • Blue plays to red and red plays to the circle player
  • Circle player plays to blue again

The team runs in a run around the half court.
  • Player 1 has the ball and holds the ball behind his head.
  • Player 2 tries to grab the ball and then does the same to player 3.
  • And so on.
As soon as the one behind has the ball she/he takes a sprint forward so that she/he becomes player 1 and then it starts again.

  • Player 1 has the ball and runs backwards and throws the ball with a bounce to player 2.
  • The latter turns around and throws the ball to player 3.
  • And so on.
As soon as the back has the ball he takes a sprint forward so that he becomes player 1 and then it starts again.

  • You plot a square with the desired distance to fit.
  • Each corner has a pawn.
  • 1 ball is needed.
  1. One player starts and throws the ball clockwise to the next corner. Then runs to the next corner chasing the ball.
  2. This is how the square goes around.

Possible challenges:
  • Throwing clockwise and running counterclockwise.
  • With 2 balls.
  • With 2 balls throwing diagonally and crossing. Beware of other players.
  • With bounce.
  • With connecting passes to the next corner.

  • Duos on the 6 meters facing each other.
  • Ball in the middle.
  • After 'go' run whoever has the ball first.
  • Passes and completes.
  • Can also be done with variations such as Sidestep.
  • Place a number of benches in the room. This depends on the number of players present!
  • 4 Players per bench
  • Two players stand on each side
  • The players do an exercise and jump on the bench after the exercise.
  • So exercise - jump on the bench - exercise - jump on the bench etc.
Sets of 10 repetitions:
  • squats
  • lunges
  • burpees
  • Short break
  • Repetition
Amount of repetitions depending on level of players.
Start with 3 sets.
If a set is too heavy do it per exercise with more repetitions (20x)

  • 2 defenders slide toward the cone
  • Defenders slide back toward the middle
  • Defenders block the shot of the center player
  • Repeat exercise until all players in the middle have had their turn
Variation:
  • Depending on the size of the group
  • Place 2 players on the build-up position
  • Defenders step out on the build-up position
  • Make contact with the throwing hand
  • Move back to the middle to set up a block together
