Handball drills
- Player starts from the corner, moves across the circle and out towards the pawns
- Make 2 rows and then take turns to warm up the goalkeeper, then fetch the ball.
- Organization:
- Make 5 equal groups, 1 group at each side and 3 in the middle.
- Make sure both sides have several balls.
- Put 2 defenders (red) just inside the 9 meter line.
- Sequence:
- B1 plays to B2
- B2 runs to the ball and plays to B3
- B3 plays to B4 and B4 tries to score.
- Meanwhile, B1 has to chase the ball to help the defenders.
- Then repeat from left to right.
- Points of attention:
Swap positions clockwise every 2 minutes, after 10 min everyone will have played every position.
Pass quickly and accurately, and put pressure in the joint (i.e. between 2 defenders, if the defenders get the ball, the exercise stops and you start again from the other side.
- Both start in a corner,
- circle the pawn, whoever gets to the ball first is the attacker
- and tries to score.
- MO plays pass to starting RO
- RO puts pressure to the left, MO sets up a change with LO without the ball (this will probably cause MV to follow MO, CS goes past the circle to pressure UL (this will probably cause MA to follow CS), RO plays pass to starting LO
- LO uses the space created and finishes off
- A very simple running in system, where it is primary the contra pass from LB to RB which gives the shooting possibility
- RO plays pass to starting MO
- MO sets up swap with LO starting from behind, LH starts towards middle, MO puts bar on UR
- LO puts pressure on the central block between MA-l and CS and plays pass to in starting LH
- LH finishes
- The following might be fun to try out.
- At a signal, all players except the ball carrier lie down on the ground.
- The defence will probably be a little surprised and lose interest, allowing the ball carrier to throw at the goal of the bewildered goalkeeper
- Please note, however, that this can be considered unsportsmanlike conduct and should therefore only be used during a practice match.
- Example of running routes from a 5-1 defense.
- Example of running routes from a 6-0 defense.
- Left player from the wall plays pass to MO, all players from the wall go backwards and place a bar on a corresponding defender.
- MO plays pass to in starting LH
- LH presses right next to HR and plays pass to in starting MO
- MO finishes
