Handball drills

  • All players divide into the corners and buildup positions.
  • There are 2 defenders, 1x LO and 1x RO. They defend first passively and later actively.
  • The left builder:
    • Plays the ball to the corner.
    • Starts in and gets it played back.
    • Plays through to the middle at pace.
    • Runs diagonally back to the sideline.
    • Starts in and makes a passing move past the defender.
    • The same happens on the right side.
  • The left builds up:
    • Plays to the corner.
    • Gets it back and plays through to the middle.
    • Middle starts up as does the builder.
    • Corner starts in and gets the ball (with or without bounce).
    • Defender defends passively.
    • Corner tries to pass.
    • Same on the other side.
  • The left builder:
    • Plays ball to the middle.
    • Gets it back and plays to the corner.
    • Corner starts putting pressure and so does the builder.
    • Middle finishes by jump shot or passing move.
    • Defender is active right away. If ball goes through LO, LO defender is active, and vice versa.

  • Line up at the center line
  • 2 players start at the same time
  • Fast forward to the first pawn on the left, tap and reverse
  • To the other pawn on the right, tap and go backwards
  • To the pawn in the middle tap and go backwards
  • Go around the starting pawn
  • Sprint to the other side
  • Then make 2 teams > relay race. When you reach the other side, go back outside and tap the next one. Ready is sitting.
  • 2x without ball
  • 2x with ball;
    • 1st time only to the other side and back is bouncing.
    • 2nd time also to the other 3 pawns.
The team that loses performs an exercise that the winning team comes up with. Such as; push-ups, frog jumps, abs, jumping squats, etc.

  • Lay down a ladder
  • Go through the ladder with 2 feet at high speed
  • Hold the ball in your hand and pass it before entering the ladder
  • Make a zero pass in front of the post at the end of the ladder
  • Go around to the right through 2 pawns
  • Get the ball and finish on goal
  • Do the above steps from the other side as well

  • Put 3 hats
    • 1 in the middle at 11 meters
    • 1 pawn left on the 9
    • 1 pawn right on the 9
  • Put 1 player who throws the balls on 2 meters from the right pawn.
  • Builder puts pressure on first pawn and plays on.
  • Runs around the middle pawn, gets the ball back and touches the left pawn.
  • Throws the ball back to the player who passes through the middle to the right pawn, gets it back and rounds on goal, 9 meters.

  • 1 against 1
  • Both run 1 time from cone to cone
  • The attacker is played the ball by the trainer
  • The attacker tries to pass the defender in the square and score on goal
  • The defender tries to stop the attacker correctly

  • Mo plays Lo.
  • Puts barrage Rh.
  • Lo threatens to goal.
  • Plays to Ro.
  • Ro has to tie.
  • Plays oncoming corner between 1 and 2.

  • 1 player at bin position.
  • Rest in the corners.
  • 1 ball in each corner and reserve.
  • Left runs on the 6 meter line.
  • Right runs on the 9 meter line.
  • Pass to nearest bin.
  • Passer gets ball back from next bin.
  • Pass through to corner

  • Place a number of benches in the room. This depends on the number of players present!
  • 4 Players per bench
  • Two players stand on each side
  • The players do an exercise and jump on the bench after the exercise.
  • So exercise - jump on the bench - exercise - jump on the bench etc.
Sets of 10 repetitions:
  • squats
  • lunges
  • burpees
  • Short break
  • Repetition
Amount of repetitions depending on level of players.
Start with 3 sets.
If a set is too heavy do it per exercise with more repetitions (20x)

  • All players stand back to back in the center of the playing field.
  • Each player has a pawn or hat on either side.
  • When instructed by the trainer, players move into place at a fast pace.
  • At a whistle and direction from the trainer, players sprint to a pawn and back to their starting spot.
  • Repeat several times, sprinting various directions.
  • Rest.
  • And repeat the exercise one more time or times depending on the level of the players.
  • Option: With ball.

  • Work in pairs or threesomes
  • Place 2 pawns about 2 meters apart
  • Player A stands between the pawns
  • Player B has a pile of hats in his hands
  • Player B throws the hats towards player A between the cones
  • Player A tries to dodge the hats and not get hit
Variation:
  • Each hat hit is 1 mission
  • Example: hit 5 hats? Then player A does 5 squats/push ups/sit ups
Variation for footwork:
  • Throw the hats only toward the feet
  • Make pairs with 1 ball.
  • Pairs face each other and place the ball at a high pace to each other.
  • Actively dribble and place on spot.
  • On the whistle they sprint to the pawn and back to spot and start placing the ball again.
  • Ball stays center when sprinting

  • Ball with bounce
  • Bounce ball
  • Bow ball

  • 1 player starts on the back line next to the goal
  • Other players stand divided on the sideline. Left and right of the goal, first stands at the level of the 7 meters.
  • On whistle, player sprints to the center line and to the 9 meters.
  • Receives the ball and shoots at goal. Running shoes, jumping boots or with a hip throw.
  • Backwards to the pawn and again to the 9 meters.
  • Just until the balls run out!
  • Collect balls, next player
