Handball drills for technique warming-up

  • Team of two with ball, sitting opposite each other on the mat
  • Person A holds ball above head with both hands and moves to supine position while tapping the ground with ball backwards with outstretched arms
  • Person A moves to sitting position and hands the ball to person B
  • Person B goes to the supine position and taps the ground with the ball backwards
  • and so on


May also be with bended knees

  • Players stand in pairs briefly facing each other.
  • On the ground between the two players is a ball.
  • Trainer gives the commands:
    • Head,
    • chin,
    • knees,
    • feet,
    • ears,
    • BAL!
  • At the command BAL, the players must try to get the ball as quickly as possible.
  • At the other commands, they have to tap on the corresponding body part.
  • 2 with the ball and the rest by tapping the ball against another.
  • Running with the ball is not allowed.
  • Once tapped you are also tapped.
  • Tappers wear a ribbon
  • 30 sec jumping jacks
  • 30 sec sit ups
  • 30se squats
  • 30 sec push up and turn arm up
  • 30 sec high knee running in place
  • 30 sec lunges
  • 30 sec plank
  • A very simple running in system, where it is primary the contra pass from LB to RB which gives the shooting possibility

  • Players in three set-up positions.
  • Cross in front of each other during passing and take over the position.

  • After throwing on goal you are handball
  • 3-1-3 and shoot at goal.

  • The teacher sets out three areas of approximately equal size with pawns.
  • It is best to use the volleyball lines (see map).
  • There are three sections (see map):
  • Left: barons square (losers square)
  • Centre: princes section (neutral section)
  • Right: king of the court (winner section)
  • All students stand in the middle section.
  • With a signal from the teacher the game starts.
  • All pupils have to try to tap/strike the ball of another pupil out of the box.
  • If you succeed you move one square to the right.
  • If your ball is knocked away you move up one square to the left.
  • If you hit/tap someone's ball out of the box on the right you score a point.
  • If your ball is knocked out of the winner's box you lose all your points.
  • If your ball is knocked out of the left box nothing happens and you stay standing.
  • When the teacher gives the final signal the person with the most points is king of the court and he/she has won.

  • Hands, high, low, the kids know it.
  • But now instead of going to get their ball right away.
  • They leave their ball on the ground and sprint to the middle line after throwing the ball.
  • 2 teams play against each other.
    • there are 3 pins on the field
      • 2 in opposite corners on the same longitudinal line and
      • 1 on the other longitudinal line so that these 3 cones form a triangle)
    • score by tapping a cone
    • after tapping a cone move directly to another cone
    • extra rule:
      • by good contact the ball is for the defender.
