Hockey drills

In this exercise, we are only going to flop!
  • The ball starts on the 23-meter line.
  • Goes wide to player 2, then deep to player 3 and then to head circle, to player 4.
  • Player 4 also rounds off with a flat.
Coach points:
  • Hands together during the flats.
  • Hands low to the ground during the flats.
  • Stick well upright so ball does not go up.

  • Overplaying past the pawns.
  • When the players reach the last pawn, the last player runs around the pawn.
  • And this last one is going to attack.
  • The defender tries to defend it out.

  • Squares are laid out where a 1 versus 1 takes place.
  • Attacker, red, attacks on the goal while defender, blue, defends.
  • The focus here is that the defender defends accompanying and keeps the attacker constantly on the forehand.
  • Turning through: attacker becomes defender and vice versa.
Focus points:
  • Keep stick still when defending -guided.
  • Wait for the right moment.
  • Try to guide the attacker into the corner.
  • Keep the attacker constant on the forehand.

  • Player A plays to B
  • Player B plays to C
  • Player D runs into the circle
  • Player C plays to D
  • D rounds at the goal
At each pawn 2 players.
You rotate through, so when you have been at station A you go to B, from B to C and from C to D.

Attack through back line
  • Player A passes to player B.
  • B gets to the back line, A runs through to the penalty spot.
  • B plays the ball to A. One touch on goal.
Explanation
  • General explanation/ repetition of the hotbox.
  • Player B: Ball on stick, in front of you and head up during back line run.
  • 2 vs 1 + goalie: Attacker A give explanation for man/woman come attacking position.
Differentiate
  • No goalie? Bounce board and ties as goalkeeper.
  • Defender D may join the drill. Making it 2 vs 1 + goalie and defense can score in goal.
  • Attacker C may join the drill. Whereby it becomes 3 vs 1 + goalie and defense can score in goal.

  • A drives with the ball to the gate and plays the ball to B
  • A meanwhile runs in the triangle first backwards and then forwards
  • B passes the ball in the run to C
  • C and A play 1 on 1
drawing Section Exercise
A dribble/drive course is laid out for the players to follow.
The goal is to get the ball from orange pawn to the green pawn.

The course:
  • a slalom
  • a mine field
  • a round the hoop
  • a sprint to the finish line
So the picture below sets out 2/3 times!

Let the players try the course once first, then you may turn it into a race.
For example, give each team 15 balls and the goal: who first brought all the balls from the pawn to the green hat.

  • Take a lap around the field. On the long sides jog, on the short sides walk.
  • Stand upright, feet hip-width apart. Make 20 squats at slow pace.
  • Stand upright, feet hip-width apart. Make 20 jump squats. Begin with arms extended above your head. To add extra power to the jump; Drop your arms along your body while bending your knees. Swing the arms through to the back and jump while moving your arms back forward and up. Keep your back straight, hips back, feet flat on the ground.
  • Do lunges in three positions per leg. Basic position; stand upright with your feet slightly apart.
    • Put your right leg straight ahead and bend the knee 90 degrees. Your left knee as close to the ground as possible; come up.
    • Put your right leg, with the foot turned slightly forward to the right side. Bend your left knee. Return to base position.
    • Put your right leg back, bend your left knee. Return to base position.
    • Put your left leg straight ahead and bend the knee 90 degrees. Your right knee as close to the ground as possible; come up.
    • Put your left leg, with the foot turned slightly forward to the left side. Bend your right knee. Return to base position.
    • Put your left leg back, bend your right knee. Return to base position.
  • Make a lap along the field. On the long sides jog. On the short sides sprint.
  • 2 vs.
  • A plays scoop on C.
  • C accepts and enters into a 2-on-1 with B.
  • Defender may not start outside the circle/dotted line
