Hockey drills for technique passing
Points of attention
- A should give a hard targeted push in B's forehand.
- B comes offering and runs through the ball. stick on the ground moving forward.
- Takes the ball while running and accelerates with the forehand along the pilons, holding the ball to the stick so DO NOT give a tap.
- Comes into the circle, aligns the ball and strikes the goal (hands together, left foot in front in the direction of the goal, dropping a little through your knees, finish your stroke).
- On the other hand, the same thing is the same, only you have to drive along the pilons to keep the ball one step in front of you.
- Switch on the same side so A to the spot of B and vice versa. When all the balls are around you change sides and do the exercise on the other side.
- Player 1 adapts player 2 in the loop.
- Player 2 passes the 3 pilons. On the 4th pilon, the player passes on the left and player 3 passes in the loop.
- Player 3 accompanies the ball and passes it to player 2, who has moved on to the header circle.
- Player 2 completes the round with the backhand on goal.
- Make sure player 2 at the last pilon holds the ball on the forehand and passes.
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 3 who has been caught.
- Player 3 spins the ball even further around the pilons and passes the ball to the red pilon to which player 2 has been caught.
- Player 1 has walked in to the head of the circle, player 1 gets the ball from player 2 and finishes at goal.
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 2.
- Player 2 runs on the pilon sequence, turns around at the last moment and passes the ball back to player 1.
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 3, who walks in between the pilons.
- Player 3 passes the ball to player 4, who has entered.
- Player 3 walks around the outer pilon to the series of pilons on the circle.
- Player 4 passes debate to player 5.
- Player 5 passes the ball to player 4 who entered the circle.
- Player 4 performs a trick on the pilon sequence and finishes on goal.
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 2, player 2 passes the ball back to player 1.
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 3.
- Player 2 passes the ball to the red pilon
- Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 who has entered the circle.
- Player 1 rounds off on goal.
- Points of attention:
- Make quick passes.
- Make sure everyone always has their eyes on the ball.
- All players are facing the back line.
- Player 1 plays the ball in the backhand of player 2.
- Player 1 catches up with the other players on the left.
- Player 2 plays the ball into player 3's backhand.
- Player 2 overtakes the other player on the left.
- Player 3 plays the ball into player 1's backhand.
- Continue until you reach the back line and turn around.
- Points of attention:
- Make sure everyone keeps watching the ball at all times. Especially when the ball is behind you and at that moment the ball is played to you.
- Make sure you always keep moving.
- Player 1 plays the ball towards the blue pilon
- Player 2 walks around the blue pilon towards player 3
- Player 2 takes the ball with the backhand and plays the ball to player 3.
- Player 3 controls open and plays the ball to player 4
- Player 4 plays the ball towards the blue pilon
- Player 5 runs around the blue pilon towards player 6
- Player 5 takes the ball with the backhand and plays the ball to player
- Player 6 takes the ball in closed and round on the forehand or takes the ball open and round or on the backhand
- You can extend this exercise on 2 sides towards the other goal
- Too few players?
- Eliminate pilon 3
- Player 1 passes the ball in the forehand to player 2.
- Player 2 takes the ball open/closed and passes it to player 3.
- Player 3 takes the ball open/closed and passes it to player 4.
- Player 4 takes the ball open/closed and passes it to player 5.
- Player 5 takes the ball open/closed and passes the ball to player 6.
- Player 6 takes the ball open/closed and runs to the back line along the blue pilons and passes the ball to player 7.
- Player 7 finishes off on goal.
- Fewer players?
- Remove a few pilons.
- Points of attention:
- Pay attention to posture while assuming
- Tight passes in the forehand
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 2, player 1 walks halfway to the red pilon of player 2.
- Player 2 passes the ball back to player 1.
- Player 2 moves on to the blue pilon, player 1 passes the ball to player 2.
- Player 2 passes the ball to player 3 on the red pilon, player 2 walks halfway to the red pilon of player 3.
- Player 3 passes the ball back to player 2.
- Player 3 passes the ball to the blue pilon, player 2 passes the ball to the passed player 3.
- Continue until player 7 can finish on goal.
- Points of attention:
- Tight passing
- Always keep looking at the ball
- Good attitude for open assumption
- Player 1 passes the ball to player 2.
- Player 1 runs through to create a triangle between player 1,2 and 3.
- Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 who ran in, player 1 passes the ball to player 3.
- Player 2 runs through to create a triangle between player 2, 3 and 4
- Player 3 passes the ball to player 2, player 2 passes the ball to player 4.
- This is repeated until the ball reaches player 6, player 6 shoots on goal.
- Easier:
- Put the pilons further apart and possibly put flaps on the spot where the player has to run to when he/she has to run in
- More difficult:
- Move the pilons closer together.
- There are 2 passers on the PC points on the back line to the right and left of the goal.
- The player starts behind the 25 yard line, receives the ball from the left, gets the ball to the semi-circle and then has to score.
- This player then sprints past the penalty mark, then sprints back behind the 25 yard line, and then has to run back towards the goal to receive the pass from the other attacker (right) and do the same (scoring, sprint past the strokepunt/puntball point and back to the 25 yard line)
- Use pilons to set up two squares
- Around the dotted head circle (left and right next to/opposite the goal)
