Hockey drills
Two exercises simultaneously. Note; only on goal if you have eye contact with goalkeeper.
Left:
Left:
- A plays to B. B back to A.
- B takes strong attack, turns over forehand, or backhand into circle and finishes on goal
Right:
- C plays to D.
- D plays back to C
- D in banana towards circle
- C passes into space around edge of circle
Attention:
- Timing running action and timing pass
- Speed in the exercise and tight passing
Making it more difficult:
- Using defender. Shine defending.
- Defender delivers the ball.
- Attacker enters the circle via the outside.
- Defender gives pressure as attacker enters the circle.
- Play out 3 versus 2.
- Player 1 plays to A.
- A accepts and drives around pylons and finishes on goal.
- A positions immediately after shot on goal for 2nd ball.
Almost simultaneously plays:
- Player 2 to B.
- Player B drives ball around circle and plays to player B.
Attention:
- Timing. when does player 2 start.
- After shot immediate switching and positioning.
- Player A must be played into the run/movement.
- A pushes or B
- B passes alternately to C or D.
- They round on goal.
- Attacker on the ball runs up and does a reverse.
- Passes to attacker 2.
- 2 vs. 2 starts.
Exercise:
- Player Blue stands between the four pawns and plays player Red firmly -hard push.
- Player Blue keeps eye contact with player Red and chooses position left or right between the pawns.
- Player Red plays the ball firmly back to Blue's chosen position -attack position.
- Player Blue accepts open and then finishes on goal.
Important:
- Players Blue and Red stand with straight backs and bent legs on the ball of the foot. In the 'starting blocks'.
- Stick just slightly above the knees.
Construction:
- Player Blue takes open first at both attack positions on the forehand, then on the backhand, then alternately.
Level:
- For 1st year D players, it is recommended that the trainer take the role of player Red in the beginning.
- As confidence grows, and effectiveness, players can assume the role of Red.
- Make 2 equal teams.
- Each team gets an attacking goal.
- Rights to score can be fetched in 1 of the 2 boxes.
- On offense or ball loss, rights must be retrieved again.
- A runs around the pawns with the ball and pushes to B
- B passes to C
- C drives around the pawns into the circle and passes to B who has run into the circle
- Defender D comes into action B and C try to score
Option 1: Extra defender and A attacks with him.
- A pushes to B
- B passes to C
- C drives around the pawns into the circle
- C rounds on goal
Option 1: B runs into the circle and gets the ball from C and rounds on goal.
Option 2: additional player D stands at the second post and tips in.
- A plays the ball to B
- B plays the ball to C
- C plays the ball to D
- D dribbles into the circle and finishes on goal
- B starts running around the pawn triangle
- At the middle pawn it gets the ball
- And then plays the ball back to A
- B runs further in
- It receives the ball in the backhand
- In the exercise from the other side, you are played into your forehand
- When B has taken the ball, he plays it to C
- C has run past the pawns in the meantime
- C takes the ball and runs past the pawns back to the dead ball line
- Passes the ball in front of the goal to B.
- B then rounds the ball into the goal
You can do this exercise on both sides of the pitch so that you can pass faster in succession.
- A plays the ball to B
- B plays the ball to C who has run up to the green pawns
- C runs along the pawn line and passes the ball to A who has run through to the circle
- A then finishes on goal
