Hockey drills for technique warming-up

  • From the group, a scapegoat is appointed.
  • The game is played all over the field.
  • The group is lined up on one side of the field.
  • On sign the children cross the field.
  • One of the catchers tries to catch as many children crossing the road as possible.
  • Variation
  • The children walk to and fro on a signal.
  • Back and forth without waiting for a signal.
  • The children are not free on the other side.
  • With two tappers.
  • With boxes where there is one ticker in each box.
  • The children can be tagged in every cell.
  • Who has not been tagged on the way out and on the way back?
  • Or which group of tickers has managed to tick the most children?
  • The group stands on one side behind these hoops.
  • When told to do so, the children steal objects from the other side and place them in the hoops on their own side.
  • If they are caught by a ticker, they have to put the object back.
  • Team of two with ball, sitting opposite each other on the mat
  • Person A holds ball above head with both hands and moves to supine position while tapping the ground with ball backwards with outstretched arms
  • Person A moves to sitting position and hands the ball to person B
  • Person B goes to the supine position and taps the ground with the ball backwards
  • and so on


  • 3x from sideline to sideline
  • 2 rows (Knees lift, cross pass, sideways, arms swing, heels buttocks) all 2x
  • Push close together (1-2 meter)
  • A bit more distance and then shuffle (5-8 meters)
  • Even more distance and then go flat out (minimum 10 meters)
  • Players stand in pairs briefly facing each other.
  • On the ground between the two players is a ball.
  • Trainer gives the commands:
    • Head,
    • chin,
    • knees,
    • feet,
    • ears,
    • BAL!
  • At the command BAL, the players must try to get the ball as quickly as possible.
  • At the other commands, they have to tap on the corresponding body part.
  • 2 with the ball and the rest by tapping the ball against another.
  • Running with the ball is not allowed.
  • Once tapped you are also tapped.
  • Tappers wear a ribbon
  • Make a triangle of cones, about 5 meters apart.
  • Alternate techniques: pushing, flattening & hitting.
  • Alternate direction of passes after 2 minutes.
  • Walking direction opposite to direction of pass.
  • 30 sec jumping jacks
  • 30 sec sit ups
  • 30se squats
  • 30 sec push up and turn arm up
  • 30 sec high knee running in place
  • 30 sec lunges
  • 30 sec plank

  • heels against buttocks
  • lateral steps both ways

  • 3 steps forward , backward and sprint
  • In the room are hoops.
  • 2 teams play against each other.
  • You can score a point by passing the ball 5 times and then putting the ball in a hoop.
  • The other team can then take the ball.
  • Float the ball and after the hoop pass the ball to a teammate who does the same.

  • A course is a fun and fast way to get the children to repeat their skills.
  • It is also possible to make courses with a certain theme.
  • Possible themes are: drifting, slalom, passing, playing high, making tempo.
  • The arrows and traffic signs can be used in all sorts of exercises in a course and in relays.
