Korfball drills
You stand in pairs on a pole
- 1 in front of basket at shot distance
- 1 player is rebounder/forward
The rebounder gives a pass to the attacker standing at shot distance.
- if the rebounder can catch the ball without it colliding he may shoot
- if the ball bounces first, the shooter can continue playing
- this way all players play against each other to score 5 points for the fastest score.
- Children learning to walk lines
- 1 = 1 through ball
- 2 = 5 distance shots
- 3 = 3 rounds of running
- 4 = 1 reverse shot
- 5 = 5 short chances
- 6 = 5 push ups
Teams of 2 to 3.
You start with a common number. For each task you complete, you get 1 point. Some finish earlier than others, so they roll the dice right away. Thus the children all have to do different tasks in the end.
- Attacker and defender ready for the post. Offender under the post with ball.
- Defender moves up post.
- Play 1 x 1 until attacker has scored 1 time. Defender always tries to be there.
- The post of the defender who got the goal against gets penalty.
- Defender goes back to own post.
- Passing
- Start with 1 leg in the ladder, other leg in the ladder and then next to it the legs alternately out. Rhythm in-in_out-out.
- A defender walks backwards in the opposite direction. After the ladder, take a through ball.
- Jump forward over the hurdle with both legs and then sideways over the other hurdles, make a sideways move to the right, get the ball and score.
- Go through the speed ladder with a ski move, at the end get the ball and shoot directly.
- 2 hat forward, 1 hat back, make a run-through move, get the ball and play the declarer, who steps out.
- 5 sprint back and forth between the two hats 2x, make a penalty throw.
We work with 3 or 4 teams and each exercise lasts 4 minutes.
- Declarant at the pole with ball.
- Place the hurdles in front of the pole such that the nearest hurdle is 3 meters from the pole
- Jump over the first hurdle and sideways over hurdles 2 and 3, then make a swerve to the side
- Get the ball and score 10x right and 10x left
- Work with 3 or 4 teams per basket.
- The players move in and out continuously from 5 meters.
- The player with the ball chooses 1 of the outrunning people and throws the ball in tight.
- The player who gets the ball shoots, the declarer catches off.
- The ball is played out and the others make in/out moves again. Now another is played on, who shoots immediately.
Goal of the exercise is: continuous movement, being ready to shoot and tight passing.
- 2 players in front of the basket
- Player 1 plays the ball to player 2
- Player 1 immediately goes after the ball to set up a pointer
- Possibly with defender and feint
- Also possible with rebound
3 per basket
- 1 shooter and 2 rebounders behind or to the side of the basket at 3 or 4 meters depending on level
- Of the 2 rebounders, 1 is attacker, 1 is defender: the one closest to the basket is the defender
- Shooter in front of the basket calls "yes", at that moment both rebounders may move towards the basket to take the correct position.
- 5 rounds, then switch positions.
Points of attention:
Pay attention to lining up attacker/defender in rebound, properly blocking out opponent
Pay attention to lining up attacker/defender in rebound, properly blocking out opponent
Variations:
- The one with the most rebounds starts shooting.
- Shooter goes to intercept and may pass to offensive rebounder for short chance if shot is wrong
- Step 1: Each player has their own ball and line up one after the other at 6 meters in front of the basket. Then the first in line walks toward the basket and takes a penalty throw. This is done in a smooth motion.
- Step 2: Same setup as step 1. Only now a player also stands in support, slightly in front of the penalty throw spot. This one puts the ball on one hand. The runner approaches, grabs the ball from the hand and takes a penalty throw.
- Step 3: Same as step 2. Only the declarer throws the ball up a little.
3-counts per pole. Rebound, follow-through, shooter.
- The shooter gets the ball played to her and shoots from about 6 yards out on motion
- As soon as the passer thinks the ball can be caught, she goes for the breakthrough and takes a through ball
- After the follow-through ball, the shooter, keeping her player busy, i.e. on the move, is played to and shoots
- As soon as the passer thinks the ball can be caught, she goes for the breakthrough and takes a follow-through ball
- After 3 shots, there is a change of positions - shooter becomes rebounder, rebounder becomes passer and passer becomes shooter.
- Which 3-team scores 25x first?
- Pairs with ball, multiple baskets.
- Red player runs in gets the ball, white player runs past him/her and gets the ball back.
- Red player then runs to the basket for a through ball.
- Then to the second post, with the same ball handling.
- The second pair starts when the first pair has passed the first post.
- Score 30 through balls per pair.
