Korfball drills for technique passing / attack

Preparation:
  • Make groups of 2 players.
  • Player 1 gets 2 -e.g. red- hoops.
  • Player 2 gets 2 -e.g. yellow- hoops.
  • Put these 4 hoops in a square.
  • Per duo you need 1 ball.
Game explanation:
  • Player 1 bumps the ball into a hoop of his own color.
  • Player 2 catches the ball before it collides again and throws it another one into a hoop of his color.
    • You get a point if the other player cannot catch your ball.
    • The other player gets a point if the ball does not land in the correct hoop.
Objective:
  • Try to score as many points as possible.
Place 2 poles directly opposite each other.
Under each basket one player with ball and one player without.

  • The player without ball runs clockwise to the cone halfway diagonally across the court.
  • The ball is passed along in the run and passed to the declarer under the other basket.
  • Walk-through ball follows, self-catching.
  • Exercise repeats.

  • Players without ball run straight at each other. After a jump they go sideways to the cone.
  • There they continue without a pointer to the swerve on the other basket.
  • The shot is followed by a follow-through that is self-caught. Then you switch.

  • The player in give-up throws the ball away with backspin. The player without the ball runs to the ball and tries to catch it for the 2nd bounce. Make sure the ball is not thrown too far.
  • After catching, turn and pass to the supplied player, followed by a swerve with a shot.
  • Then run for a through ball at the other post, catching yourself.
drawing Exercise attack
Objective:
  • A combination of moving, passing and shooting
  • An easy exercise to teach a pull away ball
Description:
  • The player at the post pulls away, gets the ball and shoots.
    Directions you can give:
    • all in quick succession
    • good tight pass
    • do not pull away right behind the post, difficult for a good pass
  • The passer goes to catch the ball and there is a change of position
Variation:
  • The catcher may shoot 1 more time himself if he/she catches the ball without colliding
  • The ball is in front of the post by white.
  • The red player runs out, gets the ball and shoots directly.
  • Red catches off, plays to white and runs out, gets the ball and shoots.
  • Blue catches off, plays to white, runs out, gets the ball back and shoots.
  • etc.
  • After 5 shots, everyone changes positions. Everyone 3 times declarer.
drawing Shot with feed from the front
Work with 3 or 4-person teams:
  • Make 15 through balls without missing
  • 20 distance shots on the move, maximum 2 shots in a row.
  • 15 dodge balls with double effort, so pass back and dodge again, the server gives light pressure on the shot.
  • 20 step-off balls behind the basket, indicating from a breakthrough, then the rebounder steps off and shoots. Step on time, not too early.
  • 15 penalty throws without missing. Take them alternately.
  • 20 shots from standstill at 3/4 yards; grab the focus.
15 minutes basket ball throwing

Exercise 1: throwing
  • run-up from cone position V to position III side A.
Exercise 2: throw 1 arm
  • run-up position II and catch ball with outstretched arm.
Exercise 3: with keys and intermediate key OH & TT.

Exercise 4: TB are replaced with ball , player runs on and keys to player at position 2.

Exercise 5: player at position 5.

Exercise 6: player chooses 2 or 5 - overplay to where he is not.
  • Players stand in a large circle.
  • The ball must always be passed to the neighbor.
  • The direction of passing can be clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • More and more balls are added.
  • When the ball hits the ground, players must walk to the edge of the field and back again before being allowed to continue.
  • The ball must be thrown with the left hand to the left and with the right hand to the right.
  • If it is too easy, one-handed catching is possible if necessary.
drawing Warming up - passing
Setup:
  • Player 2 stands with the ball behind player 1 at 6 meters in front of the basket.
  • Player 2 throws the ball over player 1 into space.
  • Player 1 grabs the ball, now player 2 must move to the side of player 1 to receive the pass.
  • Player 1 advances further toward the basket to score.
Players must be able to judge where best to offer themselves in order to receive the pass.
drawing Offering side
  • One player starts under the basket with a ball.
  • The rest of the team stands around the basket at shot distance.
  • The playmaker throws to someone, who tries to score.
  • The playmaker catches/ fetches the ball.
  • If scored, the scoring person becomes the playmaker.
  • After each shot, another random player gets the ball and tries to score.
  • 1 player has the ball and the rest stand in a long line about 3 meters away.
  • The red player runs past the row of blue players.
  • The blue players must make sure that the red player gets the ball thrown into the run.
  • The red player passes the ball one player at a time so that all players in the row have had their turn.
  • When the red player has passed the whole row, he/she changes with the first blue player.
drawing Row throwing and catching
  • The first ball is played deep from the front pocket.
  • Then the other front comes in and passes the ball.
  • The first passer runs over the block to the catch.
  • The back player runs on the ball side for a through ball to the post.
  • Alternatively, the ball is passed directly back for the distance shot.
  • The player under the post steps out as soon as the rebound is taken over from the front and ensures that the player with the ball has two points of attack.
drawing Rebound from the front over a block
  • Make 3-talks, 1 of which is a defender, the other 2 will throw up with each other.
  • The 2-team stands about 4 meters apart.
  • 1 of the 2 has a defender in front of it.
  • Important to throw well into the hands. To do this properly, one steps past the defender and throws a tight ball toward the other.
  • Do this 5 times without the ball falling to the ground, then spin.
