Korfball drills

Player A cuts inside to take a through ball and Player B throws it to him/her. Player A catches his/her own ball and moves to Player B's position, etc.

To make it tougher, you can have the person indicating the ball catch it himself/herself.

3-team per post.
Shooter at 6 meters in front of the post with defender.

Keeps defender busy by moving.
Ball tight to shooter and take the shot.
Change after 3 attempts.
  • Watch the defender. How does she stand?
  • Where should you place? Off the line of the defender on the shooter's outside hand.
  • With what pace should you pass the ball?
Score 10 goals together.
As a quieter exercise in between:
  • 2-tal shoot under the post until the 11
  • then the 11 again and back to 0.
To make it more difficult you can subtract 1 per miss or per time the ball falls to the ground.
By 3 at a basket.
Step 1:
  • Player Red defends Player Blue.
  • Player Blue has the ball and then throws it to Player White and runs deep and shoots.
Step 2:
  • Follow Step 1 and after Player Blue runs deep, Player White rushes in for a giveaway.
  • Player Blue goes for a pass through Blue.
  • Player Red continues to defend, but allows the through ball.
Take the goal attempts as calmly as possible

Circuit training where one station is rotated through every 2 minutes.
Possibly adjust assignments to number of players.
At each station, shoot from a different spot to score. Per 2-team.

Examples for distances:
  • 2.5 meters in front of the post.
  • 2.5 meters behind the post.
  • Distance shot.
  • Side shots.
  • Top-handed through-balls.
  • Underhanded through-balls.
Assignments for 3 teams: always take turns taking chances

  • Together score 9 go-arounds in a row.
    • In pairs make 6 go-arounds.
  • Together score 6 run-throughs in a row.
    • Basket from 2 to 4.
  • Together score 6 run-throughs, then together score 4 shots from movement from about 6 feet. Switch through after 2 shots.
    • Basket from 2 first together, score 4 through runners, then score together 4 shots from motion from about 4 meters behind the basket, change after 3 shots.
  • First each score 1 through runner, then each score 2 penalty throws.
    • At basket of 2, someone scores 2 follow-throughs.
  • First each score 1 follow-through, then each score 4 short chances under the basket.
    • At basket of 2, someone scores 2 through runners, and then each scores 6 short chances.
In this exercise it is hugely important;
  • That the rebounder also continuously drops the ball quickly because 1 attacker starts at 6 or 7 meters with a dodge ball and immediately comes in for the through ball.
  • Then a shot behind the post and then a shot to the side.
drawing Shooting from motion
  • The player goes down the speed ladder from the left side to the center. There the ball is ready on the ground,
  • This ball is played inside and then the person who ran the ladder runs around the ladder and cuts inside with speed.
drawing Speed ladder walk-through ball
  • The speed ladder is approximately 7 meters diagonally in front of the basket, on the left side.
  • The player runs the speed ladder sideways facing the basket, gets the ball at the end, rebounds it and deflects for a shot.
Of course, this exercise can also be performed at the back or another side.
drawing Speed ladder shot
  • Player A starts in front of the post with a shot until he/she scores.
  • After a goal to next point.
  • If missing; run back and forth to previous spot and shoot where you missed.
  • Finish the round.
  • This can also be done without running up and down.
drawing Shooting around the pole
  • Take a dodge ball, after which you do not shoot the ball but instead threaten to the basket for a through ball, but still dodge again. 2x the same way.
  • The ball is played in with the outside hand.
  • Score 10x on the left and 10x on the right.
  • Player A starts with the ball 2.5 meters diagonally in front of the post. Player B also stands 2.5 meters diagonally in front of the post.
  • Player A throws the ball to player B and player B throws it back. Thus they bring the ball up to about 8 meters in front of the post.
  • From there, player B starts for a through ball from the space indicated by player A.
  • However, instead of player B taking the through ball, it now enters the declarer and player A comes in for a clearance ball. Player B catches the ball.
A variation on this:
Only throw the ball when player B runs next to/behind the basket and player B immediately makes a shot. Player A immediately runs in to catch the ball.

There are more variations on this, such as:
  • Most goals in a time frame of, say, 10 minutes
  • Who scores 10 goals first
  • Make it more difficult by deducting a point for each ball on the ground.
  • Possibly with a 3rd player to rotate and keep a slightly slower pace.
