Korfball drills
- Start with 1 leg in the ladder, other leg in the ladder and then next to it the legs alternately out. Rhythm in-in_out-out.
- A defender walks backwards in the opposite direction. After the ladder, take a through ball.
- Jump forward over the hurdle with both legs and then sideways over the other hurdles, make a sideways move to the right, get the ball and score.
- Go through the speed ladder with a ski move, at the end get the ball and shoot directly.
- 2 hat forward, 1 hat back, make a run-through move, get the ball and play the declarer, who steps out.
- 5 sprint back and forth between the two hats 2x, make a penalty throw.
We work with 3 or 4 teams and each exercise lasts 4 minutes.
- Declarant at the pole with ball.
- Place the hurdles in front of the pole such that the nearest hurdle is 3 meters from the pole
- Jump over the first hurdle and sideways over hurdles 2 and 3, then make a swerve to the side
- Get the ball and score 10x right and 10x left
- Work with 3 or 4 teams per basket.
- The players move in and out continuously from 5 meters.
- The player with the ball chooses 1 of the outrunning people and throws the ball in tight.
- The player who gets the ball shoots, the declarer catches off.
- The ball is played out and the others make in/out moves again. Now another is played on, who shoots immediately.
Goal of the exercise is: continuous movement, being ready to shoot and tight passing.
3 per basket
- 1 shooter and 2 rebounders behind or to the side of the basket at 3 or 4 meters depending on level
- Of the 2 rebounders, 1 is attacker, 1 is defender: the one closest to the basket is the defender
- Shooter in front of the basket calls "yes", at that moment both rebounders may move towards the basket to take the correct position.
- 5 rounds, then switch positions.
Points of attention:
Pay attention to lining up attacker/defender in rebound, properly blocking out opponent
Pay attention to lining up attacker/defender in rebound, properly blocking out opponent
Variations:
- The one with the most rebounds starts shooting.
- Shooter goes to intercept and may pass to offensive rebounder for short chance if shot is wrong
3-counts per pole. Rebound, follow-through, shooter.
- The shooter gets the ball played to her and shoots from about 6 yards out on motion
- As soon as the passer thinks the ball can be caught, she goes for the breakthrough and takes a through ball
- After the follow-through ball, the shooter, keeping her player busy, i.e. on the move, is played to and shoots
- As soon as the passer thinks the ball can be caught, she goes for the breakthrough and takes a follow-through ball
- After 3 shots, there is a change of positions - shooter becomes rebounder, rebounder becomes passer and passer becomes shooter.
- Which 3-team scores 25x first?
- Pairs with ball, multiple baskets.
- Red player runs in gets the ball, white player runs past him/her and gets the ball back.
- Red player then runs to the basket for a through ball.
- Then to the second post, with the same ball handling.
- The second pair starts when the first pair has passed the first post.
- Score 30 through balls per pair.
Work with 3 or 4-person teams:
- Make 15 through balls without missing
- 20 distance shots on the move, maximum 2 shots in a row.
- 15 dodge balls with double effort, so pass back and dodge again, the server gives light pressure on the shot.
- 20 step-off balls behind the basket, indicating from a breakthrough, then the rebounder steps off and shoots. Step on time, not too early.
- 15 penalty throws without missing. Take them alternately.
- 20 shots from standstill at 3/4 yards; grab the focus.
- Divide into two teams.
- Make two boxes around the basket so that good shots can be made from outside.
- Need 3 or 4 balls per game.
- Shooters stand outside the box and one rebounder per team stands in the box near the opponent's shooters.
Exercise:
- The shooters start shooting from outside the box to get to X number of goals as fast as possible.
- The rebounders catch the ball and play it to their fellow players in the other box.
- Which team will have scored X number of goals first.
Rules:
- Rebounders are not allowed outside the box, shooters not in it.
- The rebounder's job is to estimate as quickly as possible where all the balls are coming and how to get them to your teammates as quickly as possible.
Work with 2- or 3-person teams:
- The second player starts when the first is at the second speed ladder.
- With 3-pairs, there is always a rest until the third is at the 2nd speed ladder.
- 2 speed ladders are 10 meters apart.
Exercise:
- You go left sideways through the speed ladder, knees up.
- Then you sprint to the other speed ladder.
- There you go right sideways through it, knees up.
- Slowly backward back to the starting point.
- Everyone does this 5x.
The other players take swerve balls until it's their turn.
- Player 3 picks up the ball and throws it to player 1.
- Player 3 runs to the post.
- Player 4 goes over block, player 3 to the pointer.
- Player 1 throws the ball to player 2.
- Player 2 throws the ball to player 3 who enters the give way.
- Player 3 dodges and gets the ball moving, behind the post, and shoots.
- Player 4 connects, next to player 3.
- Player 1 runs to the front of the post and keeps the player engaged until shot.
- Player 2 takes player 1's position and after the shot goes to the post for the double-catch, ball over the basket.
- Setup is that someone stands under the post and the 3 others stand in a triangle relative to the post.
- The player with the ball plays deep or wide and takes the pole position.
- If the ball is played deep, the player at the post moves backwards. If the ball is played wide, the player on that side runs with it.
- If the ball goes deep, the forward player takes the filling-in player's spot. If the ball goes wide, the back player takes that spot.
- The player who fills in from the side takes the shot. The caught ball goes back to the middle player and play can begin again.
- If everything is filled in on time, you have the catch out of space. If the intended shooter is blocked with a jump, he/she has 2 points of attack for a breakthrough.
- Score 10x via moving to the right.
- score 10x via moving to the left.
- score 10x via a through ball on a flying defender.
- Divide the group into groups of 3.
- Give each group 5 jars in 5 different colors.
- 1 player goes to work -red, 1 player indicates -blue, 1 player coaches -white.
- Player red starts running action from pot to pot in slalom and takes a run-in.
- Player white coaches player red and indicates which jar player red should go back and start again, again in slalom.
- If player red scores from a color pot, player white takes the pot away.
- Exercise continues until every color pot is scored.
