Korfball drills

  • Have the players shoot ten times and count the number of goals they score
  • Then make them sprint ten times for ten metres.
  • Then they have to shoot ten more times and count the number of goals they score.
  • Make a square of pawns next to the baskets you have placed.
  • All players gather in that square.
  • Balls at the 2 baskets closest to the square. 2 tickers.
  • As soon as you are tagged, you leave the square and the players can score freely on the baskets.
  • Scored? Then the player can return.
  • Change quickly of tickers.
  • Per basket 4 players, 2 attackers, 2 defenders.
  • They compete with each other and the rules are changed a little bit each time.
    1. The attackers must score 2x. Intercept the defenders 2x the ball then there is exchanged
    2. same as above but now there may only be shot if there is at least 1x overplayed
    3. same as 1 but only allowed to score with an extended ball
    4. Defensive shooting is allowed, the catch is important to be able to continue attacking.
  • etc. The trainer of each basket can make additions to these exercises, passing on these variations quickly is a must for concentration.
  • Make 2 teams of 4 players.
  • Hats!
  • Gather between the 4 baskets.
  • The attacking team gets the ball and can choose which basket to attack.
  • This is to encourage them to look for free space.
  • The other team follows, intercepts the ball?
  • Then they choose. Do this the first 5 minutes.
  • Then another variant.
  • Divide all players over 4 teams. Each team gets its own basket and must defend it.
  • If one team has the ball, they choose where to attack.
  • 5 men per basket.
  • Players A start as attackers in front of the basket.
  • Players V start as defenders, 1.5 arms' length away from the shooter.
  • Player C starts with the ball in the box.
  • Attacker A must try to score through the 1 on 1 duel.
  • It does not matter how (distance, evasion, dlb).
  • When the attacker has the ball in his hands, the defender has to close the gap. D
  • he defender is not allowed to tap or block balls.
  • The V must show that she is with the attacker, but must allow the shot.
  • This can be done by the defender placing her hand just above the attacker's shoulder.
  • After 1 minute, the V has to change position.

defending-attacking-2

  • Two baskets facing each other.
  • Under each basket, a declarer with the ball.
  • The players in the middle, divided in 2 groups, line up opposite each other.
  • So that they can see both baskets. One row is attack, the other is defender.
  • The first two players in the row duel each other.
  • The duel starts when one of the attackers lets the ball bounce once.
  • The attacker can decide which basket to attack to.
  • The point of this exercise is to try to get free and score.
  • After one turn the attacker joins behind the defenders and the defender joins behind the attackers.
  • In between the attackers change.
  • Try shot to the basket
  • Hit? 2 points!
  • Miss, but catch the ball before it hits the ground? 1 point.
  • Two children per basket.
  • Make a square with 3 pawns and 1 pole. (With four players).
  • When you have 5 players you have to add a fourth pole.
  • You pass quickly from pillar 1 to the last pillar.
  • This one tries to score. After passing or shooting, everyone immediately turns one pole further.

In short: exercises in catching balls that bounce or roll at the right moment. This is to learn how to catch a ball as quickly as possible.

Organisation: One ball per pair.

  • The numbers 1 and 2 of each pair stand next to each other.
  • The trainer throws, rolls or bounces the ball a few metres away.
  • Number 1 and 2 have to get the ball, pick it up and pass it back as fast as possible.
  • The one who does this the fastest wins. After 5 times change.

  • The remaining players take shots, free balls and penalty shots in the meantime
  • while the other two are busy with the reflex training.

4 baskets, 3 players at a basket.

  • There is one person under the basket, one attacker far in front of the basket and one attacker also far in front of the basket.
  • The attacker runs without the ball towards the basket, the attacker throws the ball towards the running attacker.
  • The trick is to throw the ball in time for the attacker to catch it and then make a walkthrough.
  • To keep the tempo up, the players keep changing.
  • Attacker goes under the basket, attacker becomes attacker and person under the basket becomes attacker.

Points of attention:

  • Change pace, do not only run but also surprise your opponent.
  • Blocking, in the line of your defender.
  • Movement of the body upwards, not forwards.
  • The participants walk one after the other around the lines in a line.
  • The person at the front of the line can do whatever he wants for example: heels buttocks, sprints, lifting knees etc.
  • When the trainer calls 'yes', the person at the back of the line starts running as fast as they can and can then choose what they want to do.
  • It must be something other than normal running/jogging, it may be sprinting.
