Volleyball drills for technique setting / overarm technique
- Exercise bra.
- Pass over. 1 or 2x for yourself, then turn and play backwards.
- Stand close together.
- Is about control
- 2-2
- Play all in 3
- catch throw OH (pass)
- arms outstretched
- catch throw BH (setup)
- hold the ball up over your head
- Point the ball with your arms outstretched
- BH over the net
- stretch all joints
- catch throw OH (pass)
- Played or thrown over the net:
- change places
- turn around each other, back to your own spot
- both tap a pawn (near the net poles)
- Lie on the ground, the other one over it
- First working together (on which field is the first to get it right 7 times in a row)
- then against each other (who has 5 points first - or 5 minutes)
2 balls, 3 players at the net 1,2,3
after 20 balls for SV 1 position change
- s1 walks to the middle of the field
- throws/plays the ball to s2 (SV)
- SV gives setup to left front
- this can also be catch and throw
- S1 catches setup on the left front side
- s3 runs back to midfield
- and throws the ball to SV who gives setup (possibly catch and throw) to the right front.
- S3 runs to the right front and catches the ball.
- Pay attention: all movements of s1 and s3 are facing the net.
- When the exercise is going well, you can start using more and more techniques. BH instead of throwing in etc
- make a number of fields. e.g. 6 half fields
- one plays 1-1
- let everyone play the same match
- eg 1-1 catch + bra
- who has 2 points first
- one outside field is field 1, other outside field is field 6
- the winners advance 1 space towards field 6
- the losers move 1 space towards field 1
- winner on 6 remains standing
- loser on 1 stays on
In this way you can differentiate nicely:
- on field 5 and 6 come up with more difficult variations:
- throwaway move with 3x BH or
- OH + BH
- After playing ball move over back line and back.
- 3 teams
- 1 at the net
- other 2 on 2 sides in the back of the field
- B throws ball at A
- B passes under the net
- A plays the ball UNDER HANDS to C
- C plays the ball UNDER HAND to B
- B catches the ball
- B throws the ball to C
- B passes under the net
- C over the net to A
- Exercise bra.
- Pass over. 1 or 2x for yourself, then turn and play backwards.
- Stand close together.
- Is about control
- row of players with the trainer
- The first one pushes the ball into the trainer's hands.
- player stands in line left or right
- players can play BH and/or OH
- is about PLAY and DIRECTaction
If the exercise runs well:
- then the receiver can play the ball bra along the net
- Also run after your own ball again
- Receiver catches ball and joins in line with trainer
Play the ball overhand
- keep your hands above your head at all times
- catch the ball
- arms 'spring in
- and throw/play straight up by stretching arms
- etc
2 teams , 1 ball
- everyone plays ball individually BH against wall above a line
- players count each other
- keep score
- counts for the club of 100 BH
- do this exercise about 10 minutes
- With threes BH overplaying.
- Play 2 times and then chase your ball.
3 teams A B C
- A plays BH to B
- B plays BH backwards to C
- The elbows are outwards when playing backwards.
- C plays BH to B
- C has to play and stretch from the knees
- after 10x 1 spot turn
- Pay much attention to the following accents:
- Make sure that the player stretches completely and points the ball 'behind'.
- And when playing backwards, make sure the elbows are well apart and extended backwards as well.
- 2 teams
- overhead transfer
- first time for yourself up then to your teammate
