Volleyball drills

  • the players stand side by side on the back line
  • From the defensive position, one step forward is taken,
    • The players stand side by side on the back line and the upper body is moved forward as low as possible.
    • The protruding leg must be bent so that the body remains low.
    • In the meantime, the arms remain stretched out in front of the body.
    • If the back of the player passes the front foot, the player will fall forward and the arms are placed side by side on the floor to catch the fall.
  • While the hands are on the floor, the back must be drawn hollow and the body moves a little further forward.
  • The intention is that the belly hits the ground first.
  • After this the player stands again on the spot where he landed and repeats the exercise until the net is reached.
  • Usually this can be done in 2 or 3 dives.
  • Place a mat at random in each field.
  • On 2 sides stand a group to serve.
  • Serve on the mat.
  • Then run after your ball, make a dive, make a block and join the line on the other side.
  • Who hit the mat the most?
  • Players should try to stand as close to the back line as possible, but if they can't they may move closer to the net

Divide players in pairs with a net in between and a ball for each pair:

1. first throw and catch overhead (20x). After that bounce the ball under the net (20x).

2. Player 1 throws, 2 plays back overhead. Then runs to the backline to touch it and gets another ball. 15x then change.

3. Player 1 throws a ball from 2 meter line, player 2 is ready at the net to block. After the block sprint to the backline to tap the ball. 15x then change.

4. Player 1 (now standing in front of the net) throws a ball to player 2 on the backline. Player on backline passes back underhand, runs to the net, taps it and runs back to backline. 15x after that change.

5. finally play over together.

  • 2 rows of players
    • 1 row on the left back
    • 1 row at the right back
  • create with 4 pawns a virtual line where they have to stand behind
  • trainer stands at the other side of the net and throws the ball somewhere in the field.
  • 1 of the 2 front rows calls LOS orI (agree on that)
  • this player passes the ball to the playmaker, setup and attack straight ahead. Attacker retrieves his own ball.
  • The playmaker goes on the attack, Paschal becomes setupper, the attacker joins the shortest row.
  • If you did not have the ball, join the shortest line.
  • call-off-and-attack
  • 3 teams
  • 1 at the net
  • other 2 on 2 sides in the back of the field
  • B throws ball at A
  • B passes under the net
  • A plays the ball UNDER HANDS to C
  • C plays the ball UNDER HAND to B
  • B catches the ball
  • B throws the ball to C
  • B passes under the net
  • C over the net to A

  • Sit on the ground with your legs spread and try to grab your ankles on both sides. Then legs together and then grab the ankles with both arms.
  • Stretch your arms by bringing your left arm to your right shoulder. & vice versa.
  • Planks. right side, left side and straight plank.

  • Place a mat at random in each field.
  • On 2 sides stand a group to serve.
  • Serve on the mat.
  • Then run after your ball and join the line on the other side.
  • Who hit the mat the most?
  • Players should try to stand as close to the back line as possible, but if they can't they can move closer to the net.
  • the intention is to get 3 in a row
  • 2 teams per game
  • 9 hoops in a square (3x3)
  • each team has 3 ribbons, each team its own color
  • the first of each team runs to the hoops and puts down the ribbon
  • quickly back and touch the next one
  • the first player who has no more ribbons (they are already in the square) can move a ribbon
  • the team that has 3 in a row first, has won.

game-tag-count

  • There are three mats each in a corner of the field (half a hall is sufficient).
  • There are two tickers. The rest stand on one of the mats.
  • The taggers try to tag the other players.
  • The players try to run from mat to mat as often as possible. Each time they succeed in doing so, they get 1 point.
  • If a player is tagged, the counter goes to 0 and he has to knock over a pawn.
  • If 5 pawns are knocked down, the ticker is changed. This can also be done after 1-2 minutes instead of knocking over pawns.
  • Which player got the most points?

Variation:

  • Instead of changing pawns after 5 pawns, you can also change the time. For example, after 1-2 minutes you can change the catchers.
  • Instead of every mat being 1 point, you can also practise counting: every mat is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 points. Of course depending on the age.
  • You can also adjust the number of tickers (more or less).

2 equal teams

1 defensive team, 1 offensive team

You play in the width of the field

Defensive team: stands behind a sideline. Each player has a pawn in front of him/her at a distance of 1 to 2 meters.

Attacking team: stands on the opposite side of the pitch. Trying to 'steal' these pawns. They do this by taking a pawn and putting it behind their line.

The defending team must try to knock off the other team. But if they cross their line, they have to tap someone, if not, that person is out.

If someone on the attacking team is tagged, he or she is also out and the pawn must be placed back.

Goal

Attacking team: steal all pawns

Defending team: kick everyone off

To practice jumping make 2 pairs.
It's not about the run up but purely about the jump.

1 of the 2 sits on the ground with the feet straight ahead and the arms spread.
The other jumps for example over the right arm after that over the legs and then again over left arm. (5 rounds and then switch)

  • All 1 ball and first try to play overhead on 1 spot, then
  • All 1 ball and hit the ground against the wall.
  • Hit the ball so your wrist is over the ball.
  • Remember to get out and both arms in the air.
