Volleyball drills
Divide the group into two, start from the back line:
Trainer precedes first.
Trainer precedes first.
- Dribble on the front feet.
- Sprint to the net.
- Sprint to 7 meters.
- Sprint to net.
- Sprint to 3 meters.
- Pass under net and dive toward bench.
- Over the bench.
- Around the pawn and sprint back to starting position.
Attack from 3 meters and score on the mat.
Which team has 10 points first?
Alternately, each player goes around the pawn and gets the ball from a teammate for the 3-meter attack.

Which team is the fastest?
- Place a table at the 3-meter line with a mat on it.
- 1 player takes a seat behind the table.
- The row of players on the other side of the net.
- Players play the ball over the net onto the table with mat. Can the player at the table catch the ball after 1 bots then 1 point may be put.
- Who gets 25 points first?
- Divide players into 2 teams over both halves of the field. 1 player waits at the pawn.
- Trainer throws the ball in. Teams play the ball over the net to each other.
- Each player who has played the ball taps the pawn, waits and then takes the place of the one currently leaving the field.
- After playing over the net each time, pass on.
Extension: throw in the same way as you caught the ball.
- Player with ball carrier plays 1 ball per duo over net.
- Duo tries to defend and make point.
- Red player: quiet topspin ball to the blue player. Pass to SV.
- SV gives setup and attack 'orange' player.
- Use all positions to attack.
- Divide the group into pairs
- Each side lie 2 mats on the ground
- Make roll on the mat and sprint to the net. Block jump.
- TR plays the ball in.
- Ball must be played in threes with attack.
- Who has the most points
- For extra point: 2 mats on other field, if hit get 2 points.
- All players on 1 side.
- 1 catcher on 2/3.
- The rest on the 3 yards. Right and then left.
Exercise:
- Player sprints around the pawn.
- Once player is around the pawn TR throws the ball up. Pass to 2/3 catcher.
Extension:
- 1 solid SV at 2/3.
- Player sprints around the pawn.
- As soon as the player is around the pawn TR throws the ball up. Pass to SV and attack own ball at 52.
Note: if unable to attack well then ready an attacker at 52 and the passer becomes attacker.
Running to the net and:
- Jump through; block and return. Slightly through the knees.
- Block with 1 lateral pass right and block again.
- Blocks with 1 side pass right and blocks and again to left side pass and block.
- Same as number 3 but then with Cross 'inside' right and again left.
- Info: if to right blocks start with your left leg, if to left blocks, start right leg.
- Same as number 3 but with Cross 'outside'.
- Info: if to right blocks right leg must also open to make your jump more powerful. reverse to left blocks.
- Block with 1 lateral pass right, idem to left. Straight inside cross, same to left. Straight outside cross, idem to the left.
1. Player with ball holds it high, other player grabs ball in 'block' and back. 2x10 each.
2. Player with ball throws ball at +/- 20-30cm above the net, other blocks it back. 2x10 each.
3. Player with ball smashes ball, blocker anticipates attack ! 2x10 each.

- Trainer rolls balls to a corner of the field.
- Player runs as fast as possible to the ball and touches it.
- Moment of touching, is start rolling next ball to the other corner.
- If a player is late, he must try to still touch the ball with a dive.
