Volleyball drills

  • Walking around and along the cones
  • Along the short side do an exercise.
  • For example: knees high, feet against seat, sprint, etc.

  • Trainer brings ball in at position 6.
  • Pass to 2/3.
  • Server penetrates from P1.
  • Gives setup to P2 or P4.
  • Blocking is put straight through.
  • Ball is calmly attacked in the diagonal.
  • P6 slides into the diagonal to defend.
  • Free net defender assists in defense.
  • Over time, front and back players switch.
  • Server always goes back to P1.
  • Server does not defend.

  • Ball is played from P6 to P3.
  • Player on P3 gives a setup to P4 and moves to P2.
  • Player on P4 plays the ball to P6.
  • Pass goes to P3 again, setup now goes to P2 and displacement is to P4.
  • After a while, calm attack is played instead of overhead.

  • Trainer throws ball into far corner.
  • Player 1 runs to ball as fast as possible.
  • Player 1 plays the ball up.
  • Player 2 runs along to the ball.
  • Player 2 plays the ball to player 3.
  • Player 3 plays the ball over the net.
Goal: Move quickly to a hard-played ball, but with the calmness to play it up, so that running along fellow player can place the ball in their own court.

Move to a setter (at position 2)


  • setter must take a defensive position immediately after the set
  • is the attack outside, then the 2 other players must join immediately
  • is the attack in the middle, apply the same.

Warming up with ball
  • Chasing the ball
  • Only when passing the ball around the cone
  • Start with throwing in slowly
  • Then intensive keying in
  • 5 minutes

  • Practice on quick movement and stationary play.
  • 5 declarers red and 1 blue working player.
Starting position:
  • 5 people with ball
  • 1 player on both sides of the field at the back
  • 1 player on 2
  • 1 player on 3
  • 1 player on 4
  • Working player next to position 4 in block position
Exercise:
  • Working player does block and comes out like free blocker and defends technical attack from position 2
  • Ball is thrown in from position 3 to deep on 1. Working player does quick move to take out deep ball.
  • Short ball is played deep at position 5.
  • Attack from position 4. The working player does displacement to 3 meter line and defends.
  • Short deep ball at position 1.
Repetition:
  • 3 times intensively.
  • After this move on until every player has had their turn.

  • A plays bot pass to B by playing it on mat and runs on to cone.
  • B defends ball to A position cone and runs to position 2 to attack.
  • A plays one control intermediate pass to himself and plays ball to C, who passes to attack to B.
  • D is blocker!

drawing Ball defense / reflex to attack
Setup:
  • 2 storage players
  • 1 blocker on 2
  • 1 pass
  • 2 defenders
Exercise:
  • Storage is given to or between the defenders.
  • Receptionist joins the pass.
  • Non-reception player attacks at 3 or 4.
  • The person who took the reception runs to the back and jumps over the hurdle.
Passing: storage player > blocker > reception > storage

  • Players divide at positions 1 and 5, on both sides of the court.
  • The ball stays in its own court and only goes over the net.
  • Play begins with throwing in and then moves to keys and underhand play.
  • When the ball is played away, the players move to the cone in the backfield.
  • Then they walk around the court and rejoin their own group.

The goal is to look at the block setting and set it properly.
This can be accomplished by following the following steps:
  • TR hits L.
  • L gives pass on 2/3 run-in SV and set.
  • In base to position 3 and 4.
  • Possibly expand to position 2 and 6.
