  • 2 teams stand in a large circle,

  • Person A goes on the back of Person B
  • When the trainer says yes, A jumps off his back and runs around the circle.

  • There is a cone under the net
  • Players play the ball overhead in front of themselves and then pass the ball to others
  • After playing, they tap the cone under the net and get back to their feetbutton

This exercise assumes that the players know where they must stand and which zone is for them. So explain this well in advance

  • Players stand in the right zone
  • Reserve player serves the ball
  • Block/defence, trainer throws in the ball
  • After every service turn.
  • Serve only when they think they are in the right position
    • Also serve if they are not in the right position and serve on the uncovered position.
  • They have to correct each other where they should stand.
  • Throw a ball into the difficult zone every now and then. Who was this ball for?
  • It's about recognizing your own zone. Who takes which ball? Call loose when in doubt etc
  • Make clear agreements in advance!
  • Besides technique, communication is also important in volleyball.
  • And both aspects also apply to this exercise.
  • And reacting adequately to situations which go differently than normal.
  • In such an exercise you can see very well how different players are.

service-and-defense-3

  • Three players line up to pass (numbers 3, 4 and 5)
  • Player 2 stands ready at the side of the same field of play. The other players stand ready with ball to serve on the other side.

  • Player 1 serves the ball (and then immediately walks to where player 2 is already standing).
  • A player passes the ball. Another player gives a setup. And the third player plays the ball over the net. All three players must play the ball, either a pass, or a setup, or an attack.
  • Once the ball is over the net, the players turn: 2 goes into the court (where 3 was first) 3 goes to mid-back, 4 goes to the spot of 5 and 5 goes the serving spot of the other half.
  • Then the next player can serve, on the drawing this is player 8. Etc.

Necessary:

  • 4 balls
  • 7-8 players

movement

  • Trainer stands with ball carrier at the net
  • Players divide into 2 groups
  • 1 group stands on the left side of the field other group stands on the right side of the field

  • Trainer throws the ball alternately left and right of the field,
  • players have to catch the ball and put it back in the cart and then close again on the other side.
  • Extension: players can play reception to the net and catch the ball themselves.
