Volleyball drills
- Make 2 teams of about 5 children.
- Each team stands on one side of the field.
- Place 5 balls on both 3meter lines.
- When the trainer calls "GO!" everyone starts throwing the balls to the other side.
- Who has the most balls in his field after 3 minutes, is lost.
- Beware: the ball may only be thrown overhand, no key and no underhand play or throw, only overhand!
- The trainer stands on the passing spot and the line stand in a row in the middle.
- The ball is thrown in and the ball must be played to the trainer.
- The trainer gives a set-up and the ball is hit by the attacker outside.
- Good pass is to move to the attack.
- Bad pass is to join the back of the line after getting the ball.
- 2 players/1 hoop
- Player A hits the ball over the net from the hoop she is at 2m from the net,
- he runs behind and catches the ball after a bounce,
- then he dribbles twice and tips the ball back into the hoop;
- player B catches the ball and performs the exercise as well
- Challenge: 1 point when the ball bounces the edge and 2 points when it falls in

- 2 teams stand in a large circle,
- in the middle there are balls (1 less than the number of pairs)
- Person A goes on the back of Person B
- When the trainer says yes, A jumps off his back and runs around the circle.
- In the meantime B has put his legs wide so that A can pass between them.
- A goes between the legs of B and picks up a ball as fast as possible.
- Etc. until there is a winner.

- Each team stands on one side of the field.
- Place 5 balls on both 3meter lines.
- When the trainer calls GO, everyone rolls the balls to the other side.
- Who has the least balls in their field after 3 minutes has won.
- Pairs facing each other with a net in between
- There is a cone under the net
- Players play the ball overhead in front of themselves and then pass the ball to others
- After playing, they tap the cone under the net and get back to their feet
This exercise assumes that the players know where they must stand and which zone is for them. So explain this well in advance
- Players stand in the right zone
- Reserve player serves the ball
- Block/defence, trainer throws in the ball
- After every service turn.
- Serve only when they think they are in the right position
- Also serve if they are not in the right position and serve on the uncovered position.
- They have to correct each other where they should stand.
- Throw a ball into the difficult zone every now and then. Who was this ball for?
- It's about recognizing your own zone. Who takes which ball? Call loose when in doubt etc
- Make clear agreements in advance!
- Besides technique, communication is also important in volleyball.
- And both aspects also apply to this exercise.
- And reacting adequately to situations which go differently than normal.
- In such an exercise you can see very well how different players are.
- Three players line up to pass (numbers 3, 4 and 5)
- Player 2 stands ready at the side of the same field of play. The other players stand ready with ball to serve on the other side.
- Player 1 serves the ball (and then immediately walks to where player 2 is already standing).
- A player passes the ball. Another player gives a setup. And the third player plays the ball over the net. All three players must play the ball, either a pass, or a setup, or an attack.
- Once the ball is over the net, the players turn: 2 goes into the court (where 3 was first) 3 goes to mid-back, 4 goes to the spot of 5 and 5 goes the serving spot of the other half.
- Then the next player can serve, on the drawing this is player 8. Etc.
Necessary:
- 4 balls
- 7-8 players
- Trainer stands with ball carrier at the net
- Players divide into 2 groups
- 1 group stands on the left side of the field other group stands on the right side of the field
- Trainer throws the ball alternately left and right of the field,
- players have to catch the ball and put it back in the cart and then close again on the other side.
- Extension: players can play reception to the net and catch the ball themselves.
