Volleyball drills
Divide the children into 2 groups; 1 counter and 1 person who does the exercise.
- 4 hoops lie in a square.
- The distance between the hoops is 5 metres.
- In each hoop there is a ball.
- The player starts in a corner with a ball in his hands.
- Swap as many balls in a row as possible, putting the ball in the hoop.
- The player has to look in the same direction.
- Each player has one turn.
- Count the number of ball changes in 45 seconds.
Instructions for the counters
- The balls have to be placed in the hoop.
- If the ball rolls out, the player must go back and put it back in!
- All four hoops must be completed in order.
- The player is not allowed to run back and forth between 2 hoops and swap balls!
Objective;
- The teams on the mats must conquer 4 pawns together without being tapped in x number of minutes
Equipment;
- Pairs on the 3 mats (can be extended to 2 pairs)
- 2 cops between the mats and pawns
- 9 Pawns about a field length of the mats.
Explanation of the game;
- The pair on the mat must conquer a pawn, hand in hand or otherwise connected to each other.
- The taggers will try to tag one of the two.
- If one of them gets caught, they have to go back to their mat and try again.
- The first to four cones wins. The team with the fewest pawns is the winner.
- Set a time limit for a number of minutes to keep the game going.
- 2 teams (6,8,10 or 12 players)
- 1 person in the field (inside 3m line).
- Other players stand behind the 3m line in the waiting room.
- T puts ball in play in field A or B.
- You may only play the ball overhand within the 3m line.
- After playing the ball step out and someone in the waiting room takes your place.
- If you make a mistake, make sure you have the ball safe and encourage your teammates.
- If all the players of a team are eliminated, you have a point.
- Idem only underhand play
- idem overhand play only outside the 3m line
This exercise is best done with several trainers (e.g. trainer + assistant trainer) and space in the gym.
- Equipment: balls, 3 rings (or pawns/mats)
- Format: divide field in 3 areas
- This exercise is divided into increasing levels of difficulty so that each player can perform the exercise at their own level. This way the exercise remains fun and challenging for everyone.
- Extension possibilities
- FIELD 1:
All players have their own ball. Throw the ball, test it and catch it yourself.
Good X number of times, then move to field 2.
- FIELD 2:
Coach throws ball over net. Player keys and catches ball.
Player retrieves ball, puts in trainer's basket and connects again.
X number of good shots + catch (judged by trainer), then move on to field 3.
- FIELD 3:
Trainer throws ball over net. Player tests, catches and throws ball back over net. Throw ball into the ring/on the mat on the other side of the field.
Retrieve ball by yourself and connect.
- Stand in pairs in the middle of the room.
- You do with this pair 'stone - paper - scissors' and who loses must tap the winner as soon as possible.
- The winner must try to tap the wall on his side of the room as quickly as possible.
PURPOSE
Improve fitness and strength + warm up
ORGANIZATION
To crack a code by carrying out various tasks
IMPLEMENTATION
You can play this game with any 4 exercises you can think of.
1. Divide the group into two or three. These are the teams that will do the assignments.
2. The trainer makes a code of ten digits e.g. (24 32 14 21 33)
3. The players will do the exercises in a particular order. For example; they think the first digit is 3, so they will do exercises 3. When they have done them, they will go to the trainer and he will say whether the number is right or wrong. If the number is right, they try to guess the next number. If the number is wrong they have to do another exercise, for example exercise four, to guess the correct number.
Set 1;
Exercise 1: Push-ups 5 timesExercise
2: Sprint the distance between the back line and the middle line three timesExercise
3: Spiderman from the net to the back line and backExercise
4: Ten sit ups
Set 2
;Exercise 1: WheelbarrowExercise
2: TiggerExercise
3: Hand walkExercise
4: 15 count slice
The pair that cracks the code first wins.
- In pairs, facing each other, start at the cone.
- Place cones in the middle.
- One cone per pair
- First time backwards to the sideline.
- Return forward.
- Tapping and kneeling in reception position, waiting for the signal.
- On command move sideways to the sideline.
- Same side back.
- Wait through the knees.
- Third time knees up, back against seat.
- Knee sit next to the cone, right leg to leave.
- 4th time, very fast kick to the other side.
- Lie on your stomach on the line and kick back.
1 ball/ person
- everyone plays ball individually BH against wall above a line
- players count each other
- keep score
GOAL
Improve reaction time and speed + go for the ball
ORGANIZATION
Players have to grab balls
IMPLEMENTATION
- Row 1 players ready to play ball
- Row 2 players behind trainer with ball
- Front pushes trainer ball in hand and joins row 1
- Trainer throws ball into field and player from row 1:
- Runs towards the ball, lets it bounce 1x, 1x OH and then catches it
- Runs to the ball, lets it bounce 1x, 1x BH and then catch
- Runs to the ball, let it bounce 1x, 1x OH, 1x BH and then catch
- Runs to the ball, does not bounce, and touches it anyway : diving
- Connect with ball in the back of line 2
- High tempo and adapt to the player.
PURPOSE
Improve fitness and warm up
ORGANIZATION
Run in circles
IMPLEMENTATION
Run in circles around the field(leave about 2m between them)
- when trainer claps 1 time - pump 1 time
- when trainer claps 2 times - sliding dive
- when trainer claps 3 times - tapping the net
- when trainer claps 4 times - sprint a whole circle around the field
- 2 teams serve each other calmly over the net (Overhand)
- Distance can be increased when the ball goes over the net in a controlled way.
- Throwing up is important, so concentrate!
- After this serve on positions in the field where there is a mat.
- Throwing up is important so concentration is necessary!
Goal of the exercise:
Looking for the ball in space.
Explanation of the exercise:
Everyone should stand in a circle. One person is crouching in the middle. This person counts to 20. Count the first 10 out loud and the last 10 in your head. When you reach 20, shout "Boom" very loudly. In the meantime the ball goes round in the circle. At 'boomer' the person who has the ball must throw the ball very high into the air. The yeller will have to catch the ball/bomb.
Adjustment per level:
CMV 1/2 small circle ball catchingCMV
3/4 Larger circle ball catchingCMV
5/6 Large circle ball passing and catching.
Extra Difficult! Players do not throw the ball around but play the ball around.
