Volleyball drills

  • Players divide into 2 teams.
  • Each team has its own mat that they must get to the other side as quickly as possible, by taking turns diving on it.
  • Whichever mat reaches the other side first, that team has won!
  • Competition with catching and throwing. S
  • erve from the field. Every time you throw a ball over the net you have to turn around a spot.
  • If you make a mistake you have to leave the field.
  • If your team catches the ball 3 times in a row you may go back into the field!
  • 2 teams(6,8,10 or 12 players)
  • 1 person in the field.
  • Other players stand behind the back line in the waiting room.
  • T puts ball in play in field A or B.
  • You may only play the ball underarm.
  • After playing the ball step out and someone in the waiting room takes your place.
  • If you make a mistake, make sure you have the ball safe and go and cheer on your teammates.
  • If everyone on a team has played away then you have a point.
  • 2 teams stand in a large circle,
  • in the middle there are balls (1 less than the number of pairs)
  • Person A goes on the back of Person B
  • When the trainer says yes, A jumps off his back and runs around the circle.
  • In the meantime B has put his legs wide so that A can pass between them.
  • A goes between the legs of B and picks up a ball as fast as possible.
  • Etc. until there is a winner.
  • ladder (different variants)
  • under the net, trainer throws the ball, player passes it to the net
  • player puts ball back in box, taps wall and rejoins row at ladder

ladder-pass-2

  • Make 2 teams of about 5 children.
  • Each team stands on one side of the field.
  • Place 5 balls on both 3meter lines.
  • When the trainer calls GO, everyone rolls the balls to the other side.
  • Who has the least balls in their field after 3 minutes has won.
  • Pairs facing each other with a net in between
  • There is a cone under the net
  • Players play the ball overhead in front of themselves and then pass the ball to others
  • After playing, they tap the cone under the net and get back to their feetbutton
  • 5x push-ups (can also be done on knees)
  • 20 sec planks (straight back)
  • 5x squat
  • lie on your back, hands under your buttocks and lift your legs up off the ground, hold this for about 10 sec.
  • 10x whole belly exercise
  • On stomach lift left hand and right leg 10x. After this right arm and left leg 10x

This exercise assumes that the players know where they must stand and which zone is for them. So explain this well in advance

  • Players stand in the right zone
  • Reserve player serves the ball
  • Block/defence, trainer throws in the ball
  • After every service turn.
  • Serve only when they think they are in the right position
    • Also serve if they are not in the right position and serve on the uncovered position.
  • They have to correct each other where they should stand.
  • Throw a ball into the difficult zone every now and then. Who was this ball for?
  • It's about recognizing your own zone. Who takes which ball? Call loose when in doubt etc
  • Make clear agreements in advance!
  • all the children walk in a line behind each other,
  • the last one runs slalom between the people until he is the first.

per 2

  • A stands at the net B between the 2 cones,
  • A tips the ball towards the first cone, B moves sideways and defends back to A.
  • A then tips the ball to the other cone etc.
  • With this exercise the players learn how to play 'smart'. just over the net or in the back corners.
  • The field is divided into two halves. On both halves there is a row of players.
  • On the other side of the net are hoops, on the places where normally no players stand.
  • The players throw the ball in front of themselves and play the ball overhand into the hoops. For every bale in the hoop they get one point, the team with the most points has won. (addition: the trainer plays the ball and the players play into the hoops).
